Prephase-Based Equivalent Amplitude Tailoring for Low Sidelobe Levels of 1-Bit Phase-Only Control Metasurface Under Plane Wave Incidence

A prephase synthesis method is proposed for sidelobe level (SLL) suppression of a 1 bit phase-only control metasurface under plane wave incidence. The array factor the with $N \times N$ unit cells shows that controlling number prephases varying values over reflective surface can equivalently amplitude. Different from optimizing distribution, selection 0 and notation="LaTeX">$\pi /2$ in specific notation="LaTeX">$N$ regions used to suppress SLLs. Therefore, parameters optimization be dramatically reduced notation="LaTeX">$N^{2}$ notation="LaTeX">${N}$ . distribution then designed based on optimized symmetric matrix SLL entire space. SLLs are further suppressed by some cell states similar equivalent amplitude tailoring. Simulations measurements set metasurfaces 20 notation="LaTeX">$\times $ verify realizes −13 dB multiple beam directions notation="LaTeX">$- 30^\circ 30 ° 10° step normal
